Pencils down! Everyone deserves a chance to unwind. So steal a few hours—or take the whole weekend—to just have fun. Big-name acts or short-film showcases. Rugby matches or a cappella mash-ups. Morning meditations or overnight excursions. So (very, very) much to do!
On stage, on campus: the names you know from movies, music, comedy, and more. Rappers and writers. Actors and activists. These top-pick performers are the ones you’d choose if you could—and you can! The College Union Board (better known as CUB) brings the stars to TCNJ, and it’s 100% student run.
CUB has more in store: Grab a glowstick for Silent Disco on Green Lawn. Drop the mic at the Student Band Showcase. Practice your poker face at the Texas hold ’em tournament. How about a day of snow tubing or outlet shopping? A weekend getaway to New York or Boston? Off-campus adventure is only a bus ride away!
The Fall Comedy Show doubled down on the SNL cast, with sets by the Weekend Update host and Jay Pharaoh.
The Emmy-list star of “Orange Is the New Black” urged students to trade narrow labels for authentic lives.
This bus trip was Baltimore bound, taking in the National Aquarium, Fort McHenry, and the Inner Harbor.
Take your seats! Or better yet, take the stage. Whether you prefer to entertain or be entertained, TCNJ has an outlet to match your interest: theater, dance, music, comedy, and more. Students run the show, putting their talents and their leadership skills on display.
So think beyond musical ability or stage presence. There’s a role for everyone in our student productions. Marketing, sound design, fundraising, set construction, event management, and more. An evening’s entertainment can be your chance to practice the professional skills involved in a team-based project (that just happens to be fun).
Students hit the stage in one-act plays and cabarets, in full-scale musicals and murder-mystery dinners.
Laugh riot! The quick-witted funsters of Mixed Signals spin audience shout-outs into comedic turnabouts.
Our a cappella groups—five, at last count—are pitch perfect. Catch them all at the annual A Cappella Fest.
Connecting people. Building community. That’s the creative power of TCNJ’s Center for the Arts, a locus of community-engaged learning. Our venues—two theaters, a concert hall, an art gallery, and more—draw aficionados from across and beyond campus. And no wonder: the weekly calendar explodes with exhibits, concerts, lectures, workshops, stage productions, and more.
Here students are creators (as well as consumers) of culture. Art history students curate exhibits. Interactive multimedia students design virtual set projections. And the music you most applaud and the artworks you most admire—well, they’re likely the creations of your fellow students.
See the world with new eyes, through visionary exhibits by student, faculty, and visiting artists.
Trace the history of telecomm, from early radio to modern video, in 6,000-plus museum-quality artifacts.
TCNJ welcomes guest artists, from the local (New Jersey opera) to the global (a slate of Japanese choirs).
Stay fit and have fun with TCNJ. Work out in our brand-new fitness center or swim laps in our beautiful aquatic center. Maybe yoga, kickboxing, or cycling is more your style? Pop into classes taught by certified TCNJ student-instructors (thanks, Sabhya, for Bollywood Blast!) in two fitness studios.
Team sports? We’ve got ’em covered two ways. Intramurals keep the competition on campus, while sports clubs take the rivalry on the road. Opt for indoors or outdoors, with great fields and facilities for football, soccer, softball, tennis, baseball, track and field, and more.
Ice hockey, fencing, volleyball, co-rec crew: Dozens of options at the right competitive level for you.
Swim it to win it—like our NCAA freestyle relay champs—or just for the fun of it. Everyone in the pool!
.Best three things about it: brand new, fully equipped, and located in your fave hangout, Campus Town.
